Upgrade enhancements:

6000 range: (grey keypad)

All models benefit from the following:- speed control and PA option. Twin CD Drive models benefit from:- continuous record mode (sequential disc recording) and splice tracks.

6100 range: (yellow keypad)

All models now allow MP3 playback through USB pen drives.

6000 range downloads

Software date 4th April 2007

There are two ways to upgrade. Note: You will need Windows XP or Vista and a CD writer in your PC.

Download "wrbootcd.exe" to your hard drive. Insert a blank CD-R. Double clicking on "wrbootcd.exe" will automatically write the upgrade programme onto the CD. Insert the CD into any 6000 model and follow instructions shown on the LCD screen.

Alternative Method

If the above fails, try downloading our "Zipped" version. This includes a "binary" file and a "read me" file that explains how to burn the upgrade onto a CD as a disc image using Nero (not Nero Express though - it needs to be the fullblown version).

CLICK HERE to download the "zipped" binary version.

Notes:

There are two reasons we know of why downloading "wrbootcd.exe" might fail.

Firstly because the PC user is not logged on with "administrator" and permissions in either XP or Vista.

Secondly, we are aware that Roxio CD burning software is known not to burn the Coomber 6000 binary image onto a CD. Perhaps trying other CD burning applications such as Nero may help.

6100 & 3600 range download

Software date 1st July 2009

Note: You will need Windows XP or Vista and a CD writer in your PC. Alternatively use a Mac with any OS X software.

Insert a blank CD-R. Download "6100image_010709.zip". You will be prompted to open or save the file to your hard drive. Select "Open", then drag the file "6100image.bin" to the icon of the CD-R to allow copying. Insert the CD into any 6100 model and follow instructions shown on the LCD screen.

CLICK HERE to download the "zipped" binary version.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Not all of the new features will be available until you have switched off the CD Recorder (at the mains) and then restarted it.
