- Assessment Recordings
- Assessment recordings are of vital importance for students and should thus be of a high quality.
-
- Microphones
- If recording to tape, use a good quality microphone, such as our 1902 or 1903 models. These are highly directional, limiting background noise and giving good clear sound responses.
- Do not use built-in memo mics which, though easy to operate, tend to pick up a great deal of background noise.
- A desk stand will allow students to concentrate on the assessment rather than on holding the microphone. It will also remove noise transmitted through the body of the microphone which can occur when grasping the microphone.
-
- Headsets
- Some Coomber equipment can make use of 1931 headsets with boom arm microphones. These are also ideal for assessment recordings.
-
- Cassette Tape
- Always record onto good quality cassette tape for optimum performance.
