- Not sure how to "fix" a CD?
- Having created a CD using one of our "Real Time" CD Recorders, you might want to play it on an ordinary CD player. To do so, you need to "fix" the CD. This finishes off the CD by writing a Table Of Contents. The table of contents is the information that tells a conventional CD player how many tracks there are, their length and position on the CD.
- We often get asked how to fix CDs. Well there's a bit of a trick to it. The answer is to always eject your CD using the appropriate eject button as shown below.
-
- 3600 series
-
- 6000 and 6100 series
-
DO NOT USE THE DRIVE BUTTON TO EJECT A CD.
-
- Otherwise, you will NOT be given the option to “fix” the CD.
-
-
-
- When ejecting a recordable CD-R or CD-RW using the appropriate button the screen will display a message (as shown below).
- Select “Fix” so that the the CD can be played on most conventional CD players.
- Select “Eject” to remove the CD without fixing. You will not be able to play the CD in conventional CD players, but you can add tracks to the CD at a later date.
- You can keep adding tracks until:-
- • you have recorded 99 tracks
- • filled the CD (around 80 minutes) or,
- • you fix the disc on ejection.
-
-
-
- CD-RW discs can be fixed for playback on conventional CD players. They can then be erased for future recording.
