Can't use CD-RW in Coomber CD players?
Being unable to read CD-RWs (CDs that can be re-written many times) is a common problem, due to the way in which they are manufactured.
Broadly speaking there are three types of CD.
Audio CDs are pressed in much the same way that a vinyl record is.
CD-R type CDs are recorded using a laser which permanently distorts the CD laminate to create a series of microscopic ridges.
CD-RW type CDs are produced in the same way as a CD-R, but use a different, more flexible layer which can be "re-formed", allowing new recordings to be made over the original.
The flexible layer of a CD-RW performs in a slightly different way to an Audio CD or a CD-R. Playback can often only be achieved using a CD burner - such as those found in a PC.
Coomber eqipment, in common with most domestic CD players, will not be able to read a CD-RW, but will read CD-R and audio CDs.

Solution: Use Audio CDs or record to CD-R for use in Coomber equipment and domestic CD players.
CD-R s are now very economically purchased in bulk, as opposed to the more expensive CD-RWs.
