From the teacher-facing control panel through to the class-facing speakers the 6100 Series has been designed with both the teacher and students in mind.
When placed on the desk the front-loading CD tray(s) takes audio CDs and are CD-R and CD-RW compatible for both playback and recording. The buttons are easy to use and the angled display easy to read. Digital controls via the large rotary encoder knob include volume, balance, bass and treble.
The large rotary control knob comes into its own when used in conjunction with the Speed and Cue modes. When in Speed mode the playback speed of the CD can be varied between 75% and 133%. If the speed is altered this remains set during Cue mode. Cue allows the audio of the CD to be quickly scanned back and forth using the large rotary encoder knob. The combination of these features makes the unit ideal for spotting and correcting mistakes during music and vocal tuition.
The side panel has 2 microphone sockets and both line in and line out phonos. Underneath these are 6 headphone sockets. 5 student sockets allow personal listening without muting the speakers. Insertion of headphones into the master socket mutes the loudspeakers. Next to these are 2 USB sockets for playback of MP3 files from USB flash drives up to 4GB.
As well as playback the optional cassette recorder can record from external microphones, the built-in CD player(s), the line input or the USB port. All of this makes this unit an attractive choice if you have a mixture of media sources you need to listen to and transfer audio between.
Model shown is the 6131 with twin CD recorders and cassette deck. The 6000 Series is supplied with a remote control.
