From the rugged ABS plastic and aluminium enclosure through to the class-facing speakers the 3600 series has been designed with both the teacher and students in mind. This thoughtful design is also apparent after use when the ABS sides double up as a cable-wind and allow the CD player/recorder to be stored on its side reducing storage space.
Recordings can be made by a single button press. You can record to built-in memory via the built-in microphone. The internal 2GB memory enables in excess of 3 hours recording time. Internal memory recordings can be transfered to CD for archiving or distribution. You can also record to USB memory stick via the built-in microphone. Connecting an external microphone enables recording direct to CD.
When placed on the desk the front-loading CD tray takes audio CDs and is CD-R and CD-RW compatible for both playback and recording. The large buttons are easy to use and the angled display easy to read. Digital controls via the large rotary knob include volume, balance, bass and treble.
The large rotary control knob comes into its own when used in conjunction with the Speed and Cue modes. When in Speed mode the playback speed of the CD or internal memory can be varied between 75% and 133%. If the speed is altered this remains set during Cue mode. Cue allows the audio of the CD or internal memory to be quickly scanned back and forth using the large rotary encoder knob. The combination of these features makes the unit ideal for spotting and correcting mistakes during music and vocal tuition.
Whilst the unit has a built-in high quality microphone the rear panel has 2 microphone sockets for recording or amplification using external microphones. Alongside are line in and line out phono sockets. On the top panel are 6 headphone sockets. 5 student sockets allow personal listening without muting the speakers. Insertion of headphones into the master socket mutes the loudspeakers.
The 3600 series CD player/recorder is supplied with a remote control.
